Reverence for God

Gratitude is key. In everything we do at Yarah we give thanks. Praise and worship rooted in Scripture is woven throughout the day. We begin each session with prayer and song, and we continue giving thanks and learning scripture during daily tasks and play.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all Wisdom, singing Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your heart to god."

Colossians 3:16

Tending to Creation

Working with the earth, with our bare hands, being fully-outdoors, no matter the weather is a foundational experience of human nature, and yet we have become far removed from this way of life.
Land stewardship, animal care, working with herbs and learning ancestral skills are absolute pillars at Yarah Youth.

“The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and take care of it”

Genesis 2:15

“Ask the animals and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky and they will tell you— speak to the earth and it will teach you, let the fish in the sea inform you; which of these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?”

Job 12:7-9

Fellowship

We are ages 7-12 on purpose. One of many benefits of having mixed-age is having all experience the position of both student and teacher within the sessions. Working together in problem solving and risky situations develop perseverance and strength needed to face life’s bigger challenges ahead.

"He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: 'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me."'

Matthew 18:3-4

ESTABLISHED IN FAITH

Family First

We believe the parent is the child’s best teacher. We are simply a like-minded spiritual village for you and your child to come and immerse yourself in. We welcome you to our Seasonal Feasts which occur at the end of each session. Each day there is an opportunity to mingle with other families during drop-off, as it truly does take a tribe to do life together.

We were not meant to go it alone. Feasts include: Sukot, Solstice and Purim.

"Train up a child in the way he should go;

even when he is old he will not depart from it."

Proverbs 22:6

"Hear, my son, your father's instruction,
and forsake not your mother's teaching."

Proverbs 1:8

"But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

Joshua 24:15

"We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done."

Psalm 78:4
